Daily Sketch 6

I don't necessarily "try" to paint like other artists, but I definitely study their styles and ways of execution. I got really excited once I noticed this looks like a Zana or Safadi.
Painted from a photo.

Daily Sketch 5

Light and color study. Still from a Vice Documentary, not my room.
My room is much dirtier.

Daily Sketch(s) 4

Tonight's sketches(top two) are brought to you by the Brandywine Museum. I've started working on toned paper and it's so much fun. Really liking the ability to get in there and experiment with different mediums.
I'll keep updating this one with more sketches from the ol' toned sketchbook.

Daily Sketch 2

I'm a huge fan of the old masters. In fact, I've always had a strong desire to do a bid-ass oil painting of something religious.

Daily Sketch 1

Trying to get into the pattern of doing "art stuff" at a certain time of day...everyday. Just because one thing I've heard many artists say is, "get into the habit of dedicating about, one hour each day to creating art." Here's the first one, WHOO! great progress!

Reworking this sucker

Having some trouble grounding the characters, but I hope I'll figure it out soon.
Update: I've always felt that the tension and pace was watered down due to the space around the figures. So here I touched it up with some atmospheric fog and a motion filter. I like it, but definitely still needs some work.

Today's sketch. Had this idea in my head for a bit, finally got it out. Don't often work on a white background, but I feel working on a toned background has been limiting my values.

Radiation Soldiers

I Don't create concepts like these often enough.
Quite a lot of fun actually.

The Stand Off (wip)

Current painting in the works with my mentor, Matthew Stewart.
Hoping to get this done soon.
I'll keep this post updated with later stages, just like "Man-Thing."

Keys to the City

The front is the sponsor and a map of Lancaster City.

 Right side and left side.

I got to paint this this one all by myself. Happy it turned out so well seeing as I actually own a Leopard Gecko.
Every summer, Pianos are set out around the city of Lancaster. The even is called, Keys to the City. People of all ages are open to play as long as they want, how ever they want. It's something I noticed my freshman year here and I thought it was really neat. This year, I got the awesome opportunity to help paint one, with a few of my friends. Looking forward to seeing it outside and people reacting to it. We each contributed in some way, sometimes going back and touching up each others work.

Parallel to creating artwork, I produce music.
Here, I'll post the next couple backgrounds I'll be using for my videos.

Small Commission

Portrait of client's daughter. Pretty fun and didn't take more than a few hours.

Quick 1hour sketch before bed.
And by "bed" I mean, "stay up until 5am playing Bioshock Infinite."
